HEAVY DUTY APPLICATION :: BROOKFIELD

NB-500 Low Energy-OPCON In-Floor Door Operator

We at brookfield industries, in conjunction with OPCON USA, are pleased to announce the addition of the NB-500-LE-OPCON In-Floor Door Operator to our product line. Equipped with all the standard features of our heavy duty NB-500-LE Low Energy Swinging Door Operator, we can now offer a UL50 TYPE 4 In-Floor Underground Conversion by OPCON USA.

While the drive train of the NB-500-LE is housed in a UL50 TYPE 4 enclosure designed and manufactured by OPCON USA, the control logic panel of the NB-500-LE is mounted in a 16 x 20 in NEMA 1 enclosure for easy access in a nearby location. The unique patented spindle design of the OPCON conversion, allows for full door weight and bottom pivot radial load to be transferred directly to the enclosure. This product is ETL Listed compliant with UL325, UL50 (MET Listed).

While fully compliant with ANSI 156.19, this operator is unique to the door industry because it is designed for heavy commercial / industrial type doors that require a drive train to power the door open and power it closed (no springs used). Since there is no compression spring, all the energy becomes available for moving the door. These doors are typically blast resistant, heavy lead lined, security, interior personnel doors subjected to differential pressures or entrance doors that must open and close through wind loads. The maximum rated door weight for the NB-500-LE-OPCON is 2500 lbs, providing the operating torque does not exceed 1000 lb-in.

The NB-500-LE-OPCON meets or exceeds the manual force requirements of 30 lbs / 15 lb; can be "fine-tuned" to "stall" with much less than the 15 lbs of maximum force, yet still be adjusted to move these special application doors with as much torque as 1000 lb-in when required. Another safety feature included is the 4 quadrant, regenerative drive that provides protection against damaging wind loads by applying a dynamic brake to slow the door down. In addition to protecting door and hardware, this feature reduces the risk of personnel injury. What does all this mean? When set to the 15 lb stall, the operator will move a 3-0 x 7-0 door through wind velocities up to 18 mph and will provide adequate damping against sustained winds of 30 mph and wind gusts of approximately 40mph!

The NB-500-LE-OPCON includes 2 basic types of "Knowing Act" Activation: 1) any type of mementary contact switching from push plates to push buttons or from controlled access devices such as keypads, card readers and switches. 2) Push-Pull Activation - When the door is pushed or pulled on, the operator will start-up and move the door through a complete cycle of automatically opening the door, hold open time delay (HOD) and closing cycle. The amount of movement to set the door in motion is fully adjustable along with the hold open time delay (HOD) with the Data Access Unit (DAU/GT-01 purchase separately).

The NB-500-LE-OPCON is available in following openings and swing styles: Single Swing: 90 deg or double acting. Double Doors: double acting or double egress.
